first up, a few updates about school!
AS
found out something astonishing about AS- tan yoo guan is actually marianne tan's husband!! omg i was really surprised when huimin and i drew this connection 'cause she mentioned that marianne tan (who was an MI teacher in nj during our ip days) has a husband who's an AS lecturer in SMU. and by far, the only male AS prof by the surname of Tan is only.. tyg O: he's such a killer lecturer 'cause he sets essays for finals/assignments instead of the usual mcqs that the other profs give.. scary much! no wonder they're husband and wife! LOL.
LTB
was late for the first LTB class, such an embarrassment. they were pruning trees at orchard road and there was only one open lane 'cause the other was closed due to road works too.. i'm thankful that hanoi's a kind teacher heh. was split into our groups for LTB and met up with our TA as well! it seemed that the group beside us consisted of all the popz kids in the class, and they knew each other before they were even split up into th groups.. surprising! my group only had two people who knew each other from FTB. lol! we were pretty much a quiet group but once the ideas came in and majority agreed with them, we seemed like a good group to work with! let's hope we'll possess great team spirit in the next 12 weeks or so and carry out our csp successfully! (:
TWC
the lesson i dreaded the most because i didn't know any other person when i looked at the class list ): went in to the seminar room punctually but most of the seats were already filled up.. so i conveniently sat down at the back-most row closest to the door.. turns out this was going to be our permanent seating arrangement for the rest of the time we spend in class.. #okaycan. twc really left us mindfucked 'cause i honestly couldn't respond to most of pang eng fong's questions. thankfully i didn't have my name tent for the first lesson so he didn't call my name to answer any of the questions :D already split ourselves up into groups to do our presentation, grouped up with the pretty girls i sat with at the back row! haha they're the demure kinda pretty! *inserts heart-eyed emoji x2*. lots were also drawn to see which weeks we had to do our individual presentations in. while i do pity those whose presentations are due in week 2 this week, i'm glad mine's in week 10 so i still have ample time for preparation (:
vivace!
went for vivace for only a short moment 'cause jana and feei walked one round while waiting for me to end my lesson at 3.15pm.. e-mix was damned good with their gangnam style finale! sorry but all th hype about gangnam style's prolly irritating you but i still find it cool B-) felt bad making them walk all th way with me again so i made quick dives for only th ccas i really wanted to join! so i ended up joining sound foundry, caretalyst and woori sayi (which is the korean culture club of smu hahaha). collected my name tent and the free laptop sleeve from the oikos booth! idk why but i like the colour of the laptop sleeve! it's a colour that we can't really describe- between green and blue but not really turquoise also, so feei ended up calling it "grue" (green and blue) HAHA (Y)
name tent!! :D
have to display them when i'm sitting in SRs so there's no reason why profs won't call me already D:
oikos bash @ avatar
was pretty disappointing.. the ladies were looking forward to our free flow of house pour which was clearly non-existent that night lol! the food was very normal, except for the chocolate eclairs hahaha. smu serves superb chocolate eclairs, i ought to find out which caterer they got them from! basically, we didn't get a sip of any alcohol and the only drink we had was.. fruit punch, haha! :p didn't stay back to club at all because we had to evacuate the club and wait for super long before the club was open to public again. i bet all the outsiders would've been quite pissed that they had to wait so long lol, so they all started to crowd outside and smoke, which i absolutely can't stand ):
the oikos camp girls except for lucy! don't know where she went..
******
drove my brother to school ytd, back home, fetched him from school and went for lunch tgt before heading home again. am indeed the chauffeur already (or training to be one, haha). had carpark session with daddy and he was teaching me how to maneuver in the carpark.. managed to conquer the slopes without assistance, finally!! went up the kerbs countless times, i really wonder how i passed.. yeps but anw, i'm not that bad at going up and coming down the slopes in car parks already! :D
drove out again today to get dinner to celebrate daddy's bday! i kinda get how i should do vertical parking with real cars beside me. still trying to get how i should park my car into the lot if there are no vehicles beside me.. i can't see the lot markings on the floor! ): too short ): still cannot straighten the car without daddy's help, and my judgement of what's straight and what's not isn't exactly the best.. haha all my instructors who taught me parking have commented about how my vehicle isn't totally straight, but it is still acceptable.. here, my dad's reputation's at stake if i don't park the car straight so i guess i'll have to let him steer the wheel while i just control the brake pedals HAHA. but nevermind, practice makes perfect i guess!
watched the national day rally! was pretty informative and entertaining, but everyone got pretty restless towards the end.. talked about technology, which i believe would be discussed in twc this friday le sighhhh. time to go back to school again tmrw, starting with the first lesson of mfe! heard about yizhang, hope he isn't as bad as the rumours/stories from my friends.. D:
