Macau 2012 (: ❞ ♡ Tuesday, December 11, 2012

Day 1;

Did nothing much/don't remember what we did other than arriving at the hotel because the photos say so, HAHA! Went for dinner with Group A of the tour in a Portuguese-style restaurant and that was kinda the end.

******

Day 2;

We've crossed the Macau border and reached China!

The Lovers' Rock/Fisher Girl's Place in China (Zhu Hai) hahah!

Yeah that's the statue of th Fisher Girl you see at the back

Went to Xijinshan Garden too (:

Aww finally took a polaroid of daddy and mummy! (:

Sat on the luge too!! The view isn't exactly breath-taking but t'was one great experience (:

There were two ways of going downhill- you could either take the cable ride again or you could choose to go down in a buggy!! What you see above is the track for the ride. So friggin' scary omg it's like some roller coaster. Not for the faint-hearted!

Mummy and I on the way up ^^

Us preparing and waiting for the luge to come to us before going downhill!

Went to the all-famous Bao Shu Tang that we've already visited when we were in Hainan Island. Thank god they didn't perform the same stunt they did in the past, haha (the one that the demonstrator will scald his palm on a hot iron chain and apply the Bao Fu Ling cream immediately and he'll recover in 20 mins haha).

So we soaked our legs in these herbal stuff haha. Not exactly very relaxing because we haven't even walked a lot.. But nevermind, it's better than nothing. I remember the last time I went to the branch in Hainan Island, I couldn't get the feet massage 'cause I was too young. Now that I'm over 18 and visiting it again, the person says I'm too young. Like hi, I'm above 18 already!!!!! *angry face*

Also tried the pork cutlet bun while we were in Zhu Hai's Gong Bei Underground Shopping Mall. Regretted wasting so much time waiting for them to serve us because it didn't taste especially good. The bun wasn't extraordinary and about one quarter of the entire cutlet was bones -.-"

But I was made an extremely happy girl because I managed to do shopping! Was thankful that daddy and bro didn't complain too much about waiting for me. Hehe. They give good fashion advice wahaha.

Finally bought a pair of spangled flats I've always wanted to own!! (:

Another pair with sequins stuck on only the front part (:

Wanted this one in teal so badly!! But there wasn't size 37 and 36 was really too tight :/ Had to make do with black, which I must say looks good too! (:

These are mummy's shoes!! They look so comfy to be in! My recommendation, proud of it ;)

Another pair of flats for mummy to wear comfortably to work!

A brown bag I bought! Happy with this 'cause I can carry it on one shoulder and put A4 docs in! (:

Yet another brown bag! Even happier for this one since I've been eyeing bags with map designs on them ^~^ The backpack version of this bag caught my eye first, then I realised t'was pretty expensive and the price was almost equivalent to what I'd get if I was in Singapore. To my greatest surprise there was this bag available in the same design at the sales row. Omgsh so darned happy with it. Looks too good, can't wait to use it! Def not for school use though, hahaha.

Crossed the border yet again and arrived in Macau. T'was a pretty rowdy scene at the immigrations 'cause the Chinese were really really kiasu. Even more than the Singaporeans! You should've seen how they raced to the front of the queue when a new line opened for Foreigners. Crazy shit. They totally dragged our petite Macau tour guide along with them into the queue, and she was desperately trying to get out after that. They totally squashed her!! So this is how they cause stampedes omg.. Had enough of their smoking too..

Visited the casinos at night 'cause t'wasn't too late when we reached our hotel in Macau!

So this is Wynn! Beside it is Lisboa (the old one).
Macau's really beautiful at night. It's no wonder why the tour guide keeps saying that "Macau's lai-teh-ng (lighting haha) is very beautiful" LOL. I think I've acquired her accent already, gosh.

Went to Wynn so we could watch their fountain performance! They have one every 15 mins so t'wasn't long before we could catch the spectacular show. There were fire and water and lights at the same time- such an amazing scene I'll never forget in my life! Beautiful indeed (: Guess this is one of the highlights that attract guests and visitors other than their casino (:

Bro and I took a photo while the adults went in to visit the casinos. Wynn is just like Singapore's MBS! What's going to Macau without visiting casinos eh? Too bad we're underage (you've got to be above 21 to get in), unless you go to those less famous hotels which'll prolly not check your passport and let people of any age enter. But then again, I look too young. The foot massager in Bao Shu Tang thought I was 15 omg. I think my looks are really stuck at Sec 3. Rahhh.

So when they came out of Wynn's casino, we decided to cross over to give Lisboa (both the new and the old one) a visit too!

The old one's definitely not as spectacular as the new Grand Lisboa! That's how it looks like! Kinda like the Esplanade but with fengshui elements haha. Apparently those sharp silver things you see in the foreground are made to look like knives (I took them at the correct angle so you can call yourself blind if you can't see that they resemble knives, hahaha)

Day 3;

Visited the Ruins of St. Paul's Church too

There was only this front part of the church left preserved so it's called Ruins haha

Tried a Portuguese egg tart for the first time in my life! Bought this at the Koi Kei store. Boyyyy there were so many ppl in that store sampling all th snacks hahah. But they were generally yummy so we bought all th famous Macau snacks like almond biscuits over there (:

We walked down the street only to find out that there were two other Koi Kei outlets too LOL.

Then instead of visiting Dr Sun Yar Sen's residence, we went to visit Macau's sky tower! Sky Towers are always the attraction of the city eh ;)

And in the background you can see the longest bridge in Macau. I forgot which island it connects Macau to though, haha.

One of daddy's colleagues actually went for the bungy (that's the way they spell it, lol) jump!!!!! So brave hahaha. The tower's like 300+ storeys high and they just let you jump free fall and rebound as you reach the lowest. Damn scary!! His other two colleagues went to do the Sky Walk, which wasn't exactly scary but you could see the entire view of Macau. Not cheap though, haha.

Went to visit the Ama temple after that! So apparently what they call Ama in Macau is 妈祖 in Chinese. We only realised that when we reached the entrance of the temple! LOL.

So it's said that if the water in the golden pail vibrates when you dip your palms slightly in the pail of water, and rub the two handles in opposite directions, then you'd have good fortune. Unfortunately, my hands were too smooth/th handles were already too wet when I tried, that there was no vibration at all HAHA. Sobz.

Don't know how to read the second word but nevermind, let's just take a snapshot. Hehe.

Went on to Macau's Fisherman's Wharf after that! Lol I remember visiting Taiwan's Fisherman's Wharf when we were there a few years ago too, hah! This place is really unique!! Has all sorts of pretty architecture, as you would see in the photos below (:

Here's mummy and I taking a rest on a seat wherever we can, haha. Have been walking waaaaay too much!

Love the design of their lamp posts omg.

Pretty architecture #1!!

There was even a fake colosseum around!! Hahah.

*Takes instax shot because idek when I can travel to Europe to take a pic with the real one haha*

So the both of us thought that we were just taking a normal photo but daddy was shocked when he saw this photo again in playback mode. Hahah! Even daddy didn't realise that his boss was photobomb-ing us in the photo while he was snapping away. LMAO. Had to post this photo even though my eyes were closed 'cause it's just too funny!

They match their pretty buildings with such pretty flowers too (:

Pretty architecture #2!!

Check out yet another lamp post!! Totally in love with them.

Went to visit Venetian on one of the nights too, can't remember which night already. Blame my goldfish memory, haha. Dont' regret going there because t'was the place I really wanted to visit in Macau, but I didn't know the name of the place! Watched the scene where the couple went for the gondola ride in a korean drama, so I thought this was the place I really wanted to go to if I had the chance to visit Macau.

And it came true! Yay! They used to have indoor and outdoor gondola rides, but they closed the outdoor one so we're only left with the indoor. The boatman actually sings to you when you ride the gondola, haha! Remember hearing one of them singing 月亮代表我的心 to the Chinese tourists LOL. Their indoor artificial sky isn't very spectacular; heard the one in Venice actually moves, like woah, hahaha.

Day 4;

This totally looks like a pretty place to live in, eh?

But it's in fact the Taipa House, which is a museum in the Taipa island of Macau. Coooool.

We couldn't enter the museums 'cause many museums in Macau are closed on Monday. Sad life. But nevermind, taking photos of the pretty architecture is enough (:

They even have such beautiful flowers that blend well with the colour of the houses (:

Our signature tourist pose (:

Went to Coloane Village for our complimentary Portuguese egg tart. Yay to round 2~

This one's freshly baked so it tasted even better than the one we had from Koi Kei!! They gave us a cup of homemade lemonade each too, which was worth HKD12, meaning SGD2. Not that cheap after all.

Check out the inside of the egg tart!! Totally yumz please!
Parents bought a dozen home for us to enjoy, and they're still untouched in the fridge now. Guess no one bears to start eating them uh? Lol.

Went to visit the Hard Rock shop in Macau for the others in Group B to buy their t-shirts!
There were only 13 of us in Group B, which was a significantly smaller group than Group A with about twice our size. So t'was easy for us to gather and for the tour guide to do her headcount, and we could go to visit more places than Group A could on their first day (:

Me slacking on the seat in the Hard Rock shop 'cause there was nothing that interested me, haha.

Went to Galaxy (not in itinerary. We kinda planned our own itinerary on our last day since we were a small group, lol) to watch the Diamond Show! SO SPECTACULAR OMG. The fountain literally rises and when it lowers down again it reveals this huge ass diamond like omg. The lights made the diamond so damned sparkly hahah!

Went to the Crystal Lobby too, which wasn't as pretty as the Diamond Show but nevertheless, a good experience (:

You've got to visit Galaxy when you're in Macau. It looks so so so grand with all the gold tinted windows! There are two of such structures and they looked SO DAMNED HUGE from a far!! Really crazy.

Even the glass on their door is tinted a reflective gold!! O:

Went on for our lunch buffet at the Lake View Cafe, and the food there sure was one of the best meals I've had in Macau! Too bad everything good kinda happened towards the end, haha.

Took th flight back to SG on Tiger Airways. Budget airline with budget boarding ticket HAHA. At least the departure (from SG) one looked like a proper ticket, lol. Flight was delayed for about half an hour but reached SG the same time as predicted originally. Good pilot! But we were all left hungry because there wasn't food left on the plane for us to order. A meal in the budget airline costs $10, which is reasonable since they're already charging $5 for a cup of instant noodles, hah. Wanted to get the Thai Green Curry butttttt they ran out of food ): Apparently they only bring the food up when they come from Singapore, and they don't refill any when the plane's in Macau. That's the reason why those who're flying back from Macau won't have any food left. Unless you want vegetarian food/cup noodles, haha.

Landed in SG and dad and bro had a meal in Kopitiam LOL. Had to walk all the way to T3 just to have that!! Mummy was feeling terrible and the doctor couldn't even diagnose whether t'was food poisoning or a viral infection. Daddy's other colleagues are complaining of diarrhea symptoms, and bro's starting to feel a bit of diarrhea today too. Hope everyone's safe and fine!

******

It's 12/12/12 today! And I missed 12:12:12 on 12/12/12 because I barely opened my eyes at 12:11, LOL. T'was a good weather to get married today in the morning with the cool breeze and all, until now when it started to rain.. Oopsies.

Hope is the only thing greater than Fear
