New air con! ❞ ♡ Sunday, March 10, 2013

Finally painted my nails after ages!! K by the time I'm posting this I'd probably want to start on a new shade of varnish already (x Thought it was a bit awkward to just show my fingernails, so here comes the gold nail glitters! (: Want to try polka dots/lines with the nail art pen next!

I guess life at home alone is pretty sad haha. I wake up every weekday morning/afternoon without anyone in the house 'cause my parents are out at work and bro's at school, so I'll always need to settle lunch on my own before I head to school. My brunch/lunch generally revolves around snacks/instant food/food that's easy to prepare mwahaha B-)

And as the post title suggests- we changed our air con! For all the three rooms!

Feeling rather happy about it 'cause the old one's been giving us a lot of trouble, and it was really good that we changed it before summer arrives and temperatures soar :D Apparently the neighbours were really interested when they saw all the rubbish outside our house and they started complaining about how their units were getting faulty too. They turn on on their own just like ours used to! How creepy is that right haha. All these neighbours shifted in when the flats were newly built, so we've been neighbours for say, 14 years..? And that's the age of our air cons too LOL. Everyone else's is dying hahah, time for a change yo.

The removal and installation took the two workers 10 hours zomg. They arrived at like, 1030 and finally finished everything at around 830. So hardcore. Ok the removal wasn't too bad 'cause they didn't produce a lot of noise LOL. Was studying hard for macro on saturday and the whole house became really dusty after they did all the hardcore drilling and installation. Cleaning up after that was really cumbersome too )':

The new air con yay! Look at how white it looks compared to the previous one hahaha.

Mummy actually balloted for it and got 3 units + the compressor at $999. That's like damn cheap haha considering that the fan coil units are from LG and that the balloting was something Gain City came up with. Well, there weren't many people there at the ballot (10 names were given but only 5 could be balloted) but it just so happened that mummy's name was called. Lucky, indeed.

Very happy with it 'cause it's really silent and it cools the room pretty quickly. Slept to 25degC and I swear I was freezing the next morning. 25degC was like, room temperature in the past, lol.

Anw, lesson learnt. One of the more experienced guys said that we shouldn't turn our air conditioners to auto mode 'cause it'll cause water to leak from the air con! Not sure if it's true, but it's always better to heed advice from people who know more than us in their field, haha. Guess my fam'll never switch the air con to auto mode ever again, haha.

Air-fried chicken pieces!!

Tasted good, but everyone felt that the chicken katsu was better. I think my family is one that loves popping stuff into machines and letting them prepare the food for us. I've never been fond of cooking, like, really preparing the whole dish from scratch with fresh ingredients, and I guess I will never be in my life haha. Going to be such a bad housewife, ah well. I can learn, haha.

Was the chauffeur for the family today! Pardon my enthusiasm hahaha, but I get excited when I can drive. Drove with my dad beside me so we could buy lunch home! He'll prolly never let me drive on my own, not for now, at least. Drove to fetch bro who was stuck at kap 'cause it was pouring and he couldn't get to the bus stop, haha.

First experience of driving in the rain! It must've been pretty fortunate for me 'cause it never really rained while I was still a learner. There was always only a bit of drizzle here and there, and that was all. Not that the rain was really heavy today, but it was manageable. I thought the braking would've been difficult, but it turned out that visibility was more of a problem. Couldn't really see the lines demarcating the lanes, so I ended up veering off course a little heh heh.

T'was a good experience though! Saw a rainbow (while driving) when the skies cleared too! (: What a pretty sight (':
