Spicy midwings!

I love the days when daddy whips up yummy food to satisfy our hungry tummies. He usually goes to these wholesale super marts and gets these frozen food items and all he has to do is heat them up/season lightly and ta-dah, food is served. Saves lots of time and energy but makes a hearty meal anyway yay ☺

(22 January, Wednesday)

So when daddy arrived at the sg airport, I received a call from him:

Daddy: "Hi Jia Li, I reached Singapore"

Me: "Oh okay that's nice, are you going home now?"

Daddy: "No, do you want me to buy any drinks for you from dfs?"

Omg that question caught me off-guard but yeah t'was all because I bought A LOT of drinks (alcohol) from DFS the last time we came back from bintan club med. Not all of them were for my fam but like half were for mal or something. Hahaha. My bro and I only had one bottle of hoegaarden ever since the alcohol came into our house, so the conversation continued very naturally..

Me: "But we still have so much at home"

Daddy: "Ah do you want kahlua?"

Me: "Oh how about Bailey's, can make Irish coffee"

Daddy: "No Bailey's is cream, this one has no cream. Okay I'll buy this one for all of us to try"

Yup and that was it, daddy appeared home with lots of snacks from Chiangmai & Bangkok where he went for his three-day business trip, and with the kahlua as well:

It's a heavy bottle kay. 

It's coffee liquer, which contains alcohol (14%), coffee and caramel.

Bro and I decided to mix it with milk and try it on wednesday night and here's a video of the process hahaha. We made one cup already but the colour gradient was so therapeutic to watch as it transited from black to dark brown to brown to light brown, I couldn't help but video the process while we were preparing the second cup, heh heh :D

I took the first sip and it was MUCH sweeter than I expected it to be. I think for a moment, I kinda forgot that there was caramel and expected more taste of alcohol. I must say that the taste of caramel completely overpowered that of the alcohol's. However having said that, I felt myself turning slightly warm after a cup, and I decided maybe I should add more milk instead next time, hahaha. It turned out to be a drink that both my bro and I liked, but my mum didn't 'cause she thought it was too sweet. Shall add it to coffee some other time too!

(24 January, Friday)

Slacked wednesday away and went over to mal's on thursday (t'was supposed to be a wednesday thing but I ended up sleeping till really late so I decided to go the next day instead). Also one night, I was haunted by the thought that I had to attain a minimum of B+ for all my mods this sem in order to maintain a cum laude and I was like 'zomg why is the truth always so hard' and so I decided that friday needed to be productive. Woke up early (10.30am's considered jiali's early) to study and before I knew it, it was lunch time. 

The mid wings and nuggets made it convenient 'cause I only had to pop them into the toaster oven and flip them over after 10mins. The beef patty was really a chore 'cause the oil kept splattering out of the pan onto my hand, ouch. And I didn't even add a single drop of oil into the pan... Unfortunately, the beef patty turned out rather tough 'cause I cooked it for too long, oops. Showed my bro the pic of what I had for lunch (he was out at work) and he asked if the beef was tough 'cause it looked black HAHAHA. Goodness. Also used the oil from the patty to fry myself a sunny side up! ☺

G pointed out that there were artistic water droplets on the knife so I reckon I talk about it here HAHAHA. At least I was hygienic enough to bother to wash my utensils okay.

The rest of friday was really enjoyable 'cause the breeze was constant and everything seemed really calm and peaceful that day. As though nothing could go wrong. Look, even the park has only ONE dude strolling, when there'd usually be kids running and screaming around the playground. (Yes, you ought to be jealous of the view outside my window. All that luscious greenery.) Glad it was a productive day 'cause I really enjoyed the short break I spent just looking out of my window after staring at books/the computer for a long time. 

Kay this wasn't taken on friday but it's my favourite weekday so it deserved a post on instagram hah
